Self-Identity · Re-defining Yourself · Confidence Drop the Word “Just”
There is a small word that shows up in our language all the time, and it does a surprising amount of damage.
That word is just.
"I'm just a (fill in the blank)."
"I just need to get it together."
"I’m just tired."
"I just need to try harder."
"I’m just being sensitive."
"I just have to push through."
It sounds harmless. Casual. Even polite. But often, just is not actually softening the sentence. It is shrinking your experience. Minimizing your needs. Dismissing your emotions before anyone else even gets the chance.
And honestly? It is rude.
